Konkret und geerdet wie ein Stein, flüchtig und wandelbar wie eine Wolke – die Musik von Cloud and Stone lässt Texturen miteinander in Kontakt treten, Aggregatzustände ineinander übergehen. Taiko Saito, Alexander Beierbach und Maike Hilbig schaffen dafür in ihren Kompositionen immer neue Klangfiguren, die ebenso greifbar wie suggestiv sind. Das mit kammermusikalischer Intensität und gleichzeitig großer improvisatorischer Freiheit agierende Berliner Trio gab 2023 ein erstes Konzert und spielte kurz darauf Demoaufnahmen ein. Die Drei kennen sich seit langem aus verschiedenen musikalischen Zusammenhängen und bilden jetzt eine Nachbarschaftsband: Mit ihren Familien wohnen sie nur einen Steinwurf voneinander entfernt.

Concrete and grounded like a stone, fleeting and changeable like a cloud – the music of Cloud and Stone allows textures to interact and states of aggregation to merge. Taiko Saito, Alexander Beierbach and Maike Hilbig create ever-new sound figures in their compositions that are as tangible as they are evocative. The Berlin trio, which performs with chamber music intensity and great improvisational freedom, gave its first concert in 2023 and recorded demo tracks shortly thereafter. The three have known each other for a long time from various musical contexts and now form a neighbourhood band: their families live just a stone's throw away from each other.
