The World Citizen Band ist ein internationales zeitgenössisches Jazzensemble, das 2011 in Berlin gegründet wurde. Die Band vereint Musiker aus aller Welt mit dem Ziel, verschiedene Kulturen durch Musik zu verbinden. Die sechs Mitglieder dieser Gruppe führen alle einen nomadischen Lebensstil, da sie alle aus ihrem Herkunftsland ausgewandert sind, um einen breiteren Blickwinkel und ein tieferes Verständnis für die sich ständig verändernde Musikwelt des Jazz zu erlangen. Man kann mit Fug und Recht sagen, dass sie alle „Weltbürger” sind.
The World Citizen Band is an international contemporary jazz ensemble founded in Berlin in 2011. The band brings together musicians from all over the world with the aim of connecting different cultures through music. The six members of this group all lead nomadic lifestyles, having emigrated from their countries of origin to gain a broader perspective and deeper understanding of the ever-changing world of jazz music. It is fair to say that they are all ‘world citizens’.
